CAT (computer-aided tomography)

back to Diagnostics >>

CAT scans provide computer-based tomographic x-ray images that allow for the assessment of multiple x-ray images taken from different angles. These CAT scan images offer detailed representations and allow for 3D reconstructions of bones and bone fragments (e.g. fracture fragments) for precise pre-surgery planning.

CAT scans are also used for patients with a contraindication for MRI. Patients are then administered a contrast agent to facilitate imaging.
