Orthopedics
Orthopedics (from Greek ὀρϑός ‒ orthos ‒ “erect” and παιδεία ‒ paideia ‒ “education”, derived from παῖς ‒ pais ‒ “child”) is the branch of medicine concerned with the recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation of congenital, developmental, and acquired deformities or malfunctions of the musculoskeletal system, i.e., of the bones, joints, muscles, and tendons.
